If you've only used other GNU/Linux taggers before, puddletag's sure to be different from what you're used to. Unlike most taggers for GNU/Linux, it uses a spreadsheet-like layout so that all the tags you want to edit by hand are visible and easily editable. Puddletag is an audio tag editor (primarily created) for GNU/Linux similar to the Windows program, Mp3tag. Although it's likely better than what you're used to (unless you've used Mp3tag, in which case it's kinda like what you're used to). Below is text copied from their site which explains the similarities between the two taggers. So if you like mp3tag i'm sure you'd feel right at home with puddletag as it's basically the same thing. You can tag from filenames or rename files based on tag. Download the latest Development Build to use new features and bugfixes before theyre released. For example I delete all id3v1 tags after writing v2. You can specifiy tag format and delete formats you don't want. So if your familiar with either it should be considered. ![]() ![]() It one of the few reasons I still have XP running in Virtualbox (and I'm pretty sure I ran it under wine long ago). Since no one, understandably, has mentioned it, let me mention a non-linux program.
